  • January 31 -- A carjacking occurred  at 9:17 p.m. Saturday at Mott and Elmer streets. A 23-year-old Hispanic man left his vehicle running while he loaded supplies into his trunk, during which two black men approached, knocked him to the ground and made off with the vehicle. The car was later located in the 100 block of Ferry Street. The black male suspects are described as 20-to-25, 5-foot-8 to 5-11, wearing white hooded sweatshirts and black masks.
  • January 31 -- A 25-year-old Trenton man suffered “numerous gunshot wounds to his body” at 4:59 p.m. Saturday at the corner of West Hanover and Calhoun streets, then drove himself to Capital Health System at Mercer hospital. In critical condition, the victim was stabilized then transferred to Fuld hospital, where he has gradually improved. The suspect was described as a short black male wearing a black jacket, black mask, blue jeans and armed with a black handgun.
     
  • January 24 -- A 41-year-old city man was taken to the hospital after three men struck him in the head with glass bottles and robbed him while he was walking home early Saturday morning, police said.  While the victim was walking home at 4:08 a.m., three men exited a white minivan and approached the victim at the corner of Lamberton and Bridge streets. Armed with knives, the suspects pushed the victim to the ground and kicked him about the head and body, police said. The man was also struck in the head with glass bottles.

     

  • January 17 -- Police are searching for three women whom they believe are responsible for two related assaults that took place early Saturday.  Police said the first assault occurred on the 100 block of Nassau Street at about 4:30 a.m. when a 21-year-old woman was struck in the back of the head with a pistol and fired at. Police said none of the shots hit her, but the three suspected female assailants drove away in a gold-colored car. Only a few minutes later, police believe the same three women fired shots into the home of a 19-year-old woman asleep in her Phillips Street residence.  Police said the 21-year-old victim was taken to Capital Health System at Fuld to be treated for a head wound. They said the two victims of the attacks are sisters.
     
  • January 15 -- Police are searching for two suspects involved in an armed robbery early Thursday morning. Police say the victim, a female, was driving home from work around 3:20 a.m. when she pulled into the Foxmoor development on Andover Drive where she lives.  She was talking on her cell phone when she was approached by a black male wearing dark clothing and a bandana or similar object around his face.  The suspect made a motion for her to roll down her window, and proceeded to reveal a small silver handgun. The victim handed over a small bag containing clothes and possibly a small amount of money after he demanded she hand over her purse. He also took her cell phone and car keys, although he didn't attempt to steal her vehicle.  The suspect took off on foot and was joined by another suspect who the victim could not identify.
     
  • January 12 -- Police responded to the scene of an armed robbery here Monday night. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, was waiting for an NJ Transit bus after work shortly before 10 p.m. when she was approached by a man with a silver handgun who demanded she hand over her purse.  The woman became frightened and dropped both her purse and cell phone, which the suspect grabbed before fleeing the area.  The suspect was described as a 5-foot-7-inch black man with a stocky build, who was wearing dark clothes at the time.
     
  • January 11 -- Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred in Trenton on Sunday at approximately 11 p.m. Police say a Plainsboro man, 38, was approached by three black males after he left a bar near Mott Street and entered his vehicle. The victim was warming up his car, a 1995 black sedan, when he heard a tap on his window. He saw one suspect armed with a silver handgun, and a second suspect was wielding a knife. The third man appeared to be unarmed, police said.
     
  • January 9 -- A 17 year old male was shot at as he tried to board a NJ Transit bus about 10:00 pm Friday.  The incident occurred at the intersection of Hoffman and Stuyvesant Avenues.  The suspect was described as a 20 year old black male, about 6' tall with a medium build wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans and using a black semi-automatic handgun.
  • January 8 -- The Razor Sharp East barber shop in the 500 block of N. Clinton Avenue was the scene of a aggravated assault Thursday evening about 8:00 pm.  Nine patrons were in the shop when a suspect entered and started firing a gun.  The suspect was described as a 5'8" tall black male with a thin build wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, black mask and white sneakers.
  • January 4 -- Trenton's third gunshot victim of the day, a 27-year-old male, was shot in the back on the 1000 block of East State Street about 9:20 p.m, cops said. The Cream Ridge resident received wounds to the back, neck and throat and underwent surgical repair of bone fragmentation in the spine.
     
  • January 4 -- Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting Sunday evening that left an 8-year-old girl wounded. Police said when they reached the 200 block of North Willow Street at 5:59 p.m., they discovered the injured girl who was apparently grazed by a stray bullet fired during a dispute at that location.  Police said that an earlier dispute between a man standing at the corner of North Willow Street and Bellevue Avenue and the occupants of a green Ford Explorer turned ugly when the driver of the Explorer tried to mow down people standing at the corner, then attempted to do the same to the man as he fled across the street. According to police, witnesses saw a heavy-set black female exit the passenger side of the Explorer and heard shots fired at the fleeing man.
     
  • January 4 -- TRENTON - A man scrambling for cover after shots rang out near a city bar early Sunday morning was struck in the leg, police said.  Police said the man was leaving Dee-Dee's Lounge and Liquor Store in the 500 block of Brunswick Avenue at 1:38 a.m. Sunday when several gunshots were fired in the area. The victim, a 24-year-old Trenton man, was struck in the left leg as he attempted to take cover. When the shooting stopped, the man walked away from the scene and was picked up by a passing motorist, who took him to the hospital, police said.
