  • An armed robbery occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, near at the corner of Beatty and Grand Street.  Francisco Rodriguez, 62, was approached by a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'11" - 6' tall, 140 pounds wearing a gray hoodie, black pants, and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

  • Chris J. Lee, 22, of the city, was held up at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, on a walkway from East State Street to East Front Street by two men, one who held his hand in his coat pocket and pretended he had a gun. Lee had just bought a gold link necklace and a gold charm at the Gold Connection, at South Broad and East State streets. The robbers were only described as two black males, about 17 to 18 years old, one of whom wore a brown hooded sweatshirt and the other a green Army fatigue jacket.

  • Leval J. Garvin, 23, was sitting on the ground at the rear entrance of Maxine's when police officers found him at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, January 27. The victim had several stab wounds on his back and a group of bystanders was assisting him.  Garvin had apparently been involved in what police term a "street fight" that had broken out inside the S. Warren Street club and spilled outside. 
  • While investigating a previous incident on January 26, police came across Francisco Rivera, 42, on Genesee Street who had suffered an injury during an armed robbery.  Rivera was struck on the left side of his face and confronted by a Hispanic male, 240 to 250 pounds, wearing light colored pants, a dark jacket and a black skull cap.  The suspect was armed with a black, semi-automatic handgun.
  • Saturday, January 26 at about 7:46 p.m., police responded to a report of an shooting in progress and found a 16 year old Hispanic male laying wounded in an alley near Chestnut and S. Broad Street. The suspect is described as a heavyset Hispanic male, 5'5" to 5'8" tall, 220-240 pounds, wearing a beige jacket and blue jeans.
  • Friday, January 25 at about 8:20 pm, 19 year old David Vasquez was approached in the 200 block of Roebling Avenue by a Hispanic male, 5'8" to 5'11" tall wearing a white and gray colored jacket, dark gray pants and a white T-shirt.  The suspect was armed with a large butcher knife and forced the victim to the ground, took his money and fled the scene.
  • On Friday, January 25, at about 5:30 a.m., Edward F. Caparelli was the victim of an armed robbery in the first block of S. Clinton Avenue. The victim was approached by an male dressed in all black clothing and armed with a gun who demanded money.  While handing over $5.00 in cash, Caparelli stabbed the suspect who dropped his gun and ran.
  • Walter Gleaton, 28, was shot about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, on Sanford Street, just a few blocks from the city's Battle Monument.  ARRESTS MADE
  • At 9:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, police began investigating the holdup of Herbert Ramirez, a 23-year-old city resident who reported that while walking in the 800 block of Centre Street he was assailed by two men who demanded money.  After telling them he had no money, Ramirez was pushed against a wall by the men and slashed "several" times with a knife, police said, noting that Ramirez was later treated at St. Francis Medical Center for his injuries. Ramirez described both his attackers as being black and about 20 years old. One was about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 pounds, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The other stood about 6 feet tall and wore a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

  • A robbery occurred about 5:55 p.m. Friday, January 18, in the 500 block of South Clinton Avenue. Police said Jose Menendez, 27, of Belmont Hills, Pa., was just exiting his vehicle when he was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.  The men demanded Menendez's car keys and wallet. After removing $40 in cash, an ATM card, and an identity card from the wallet, they drove away in Menendez's car, police said. One of the men was Hispanic, about 25 years old, 5 feet 2 inches tall, and 155 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said. No description of the other man was available.

  • A robbery occurred 1:30 a.m. Friday, January 18, in the area of Mount Vernon and Clearfield avenues when a sport utility vehicle sideswiped the auto being driven by Simeon McDonald, 44, of Trenton. The SUV then pulled in front of McDonald, blocking his path, and two men jumped, police said. The men started to argue with McDonald and, after luring him out of his vehicle, punched him in the face and demanded money, police said.

  • At about 8:38 pm on Wednesday, January 16, Tony Pozdnyaknov, 43, was robbed by two males in the parking lot at 14 S. Broad Street.  The thieves approached the victim from behind, hit him in the head, knocking him to the ground at which time they removed an attache case containing assorted jewelry and a substantial amount of cash.

  • Candi Brina, 46, was the victim of an armed robbery at about 6:45 pm Wednesday, January 16.  Ms. Brina parked her car in the 1700 block of Riverside Drive and was approached by a black or Hispanic male, light skinned, thin build wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect demanded the victims purse and fled with it down Riverside Drive.

  • Jeffery Thomas, 45, was assaulted while walking through the Donnely Homes courtyard at about 10:15 pm, Tuesday, January 15.  Thomas was attacked for no apparent reason by 5 - 7 black males, 20-25 years old.

  • On Sunday, January 13, at about 3:30 in the afternoon 22 year old Adolpah Paden suffered a gun shot wound to his leg while in the vicinity of Oakland Street and Coolidge Avenue.

  • Shortly after 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 12, a 16 year old male was involved in an altercation with a group of young men in the 100 block of Colonial Avenue and was stabbed.  A suspect was described as being a 17 year old male, 5'7", 140 pounds wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with red stripes and a black cap.

  • At 12:55 pm on Thursday, January 10, an armed robbery occurred inside a Deli on the 100 block of Kirkbride Avenue.  The suspects were described as four black males, 5'10" - 6' tall. Three were wearing black hoodies and dark jeans.  The fourth was wearing a black hoody and blue jeans.

  • Samuel Santiago, 52, of Hightstown was the victim of an armed robbery at about 7:30 pm, Wednesday, January 9.  The victim was pistol whipped by one of an unknown number of suspects.  The incident occurred near the corner of Spring Street and Calhoun.

  • Shots were fired during an attempted robbery in the 200 block of Highland Avenue, just after 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 9.  The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

  • At about 9:19 pm Monday, January 7, a 21 year old male was accosted and shot in the right leg. Police responding to the area of North Eastfield and North Dean and found the victim who reported being attacked by three black males, between 18 and 20 years of age.  Two wore all black clothing and one, 5'10" to 6' tall, had short dreads and was wearing an orange and black jacket with a fur lined hood.

  • Police responded to a car fire at 5:34 a.m. near the intersection of Webster Street and Ginder Alley.  The blaze has been determined to be of a suspicious origin.  Anyone with information on the fire in the burgundy colored 2001 Mitsubishi Galant should call Crime Stoppers.

  • At about 4:50 pm on Friday, January 4, a black male, approximately 25 years of age, 5'5" to 5'8" tall wearing a red hooded jacket with a white stripe approached a cab driver on Calhoun Street and attempted to rob him.

  • An unidentified woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car near the intersection of Pennington Avenue and Willow Street at about 5:30 pm January 1.

  • A woman reported being sexually assaulted by a 40 something black male, approximately 5' 8" tall weighing about 170 pounds, short hair, clean shaven, slim build with a pot belly.  He was last seen wearing a black coat and blue jeans.  The attack took place at about 6:30 a.m. January 1 near the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Chambers Street by Trenton Central High School.
